Narrative

The administrative feedback reports provided to the hiring manager by the InsightProfiles system for each candidate include an In-Depth Profile Narrative section (see page 4 of the sample feedback report that you may download). This narrative describes, using plain English and not technical jargon, how the candidate stands on each of the personality and intellect dimensions.

Of particular usefulness to your hiring managers, the narrative describes the kind of critical work behaviors that might be expected to be seen if the candidate were hired, and the ways in which others in the workplace might view those behaviors.

The narrative also provides a listing of potential key assets of the candidate, as well as a listing of potential developmental needs. When considered along with the hiring manager's knowledge of what the job actually requires, such information can provide vital insights into determining whether a given candidate will be a good 'fit' to the job demands, and the organizational climate of your firm.

For an example of the information provided to the hiring manager in the narrative section of the feedback report, please see pages 3-6 of the sample feedback report that you may download.

By considering the information contained in the narrative, the hiring manager is in a much better position to follow up and ask relevant questions for further discussion if the candidate is selected for an interview. To further aid you in that regard, the feedback report also contains an interview guide that suggests questions that can be asked of the candidate as part of a behaviorally-based interviewing process.
